A 26-year-old Indian
engineering student, P Ramesh Babu, a native
of Kazipet near Warangal, died under
mysterious conditions in Germany a week ago.
Ramesh Babu was studying masters degree in
engineering in Siegen University in Bucken
city in Germany. After completing his B.Tech
from the Kamala Institute of Technology and
Science in Huzurabad in Karimnagar district
in 2001, Ramesh Babu moved to Germany in
2003 for M.Tech.
His dead body was found on the railway
tracks in the city of Bucken on April 21.
The railway and police authorities in
Germany declared that Ramesh Babu was killed
in an accident. The case was registered as
an accidental death on the railway tracks.
But earlier reports from the victim’s
friends in Germany indicated that he had
committed suicide after a broken love affair
with a local girl.
Meanwhile, the parents of Ramesh Babu
alleged that their son was murdered by the
Germans, who could not tolerate his love for
a local girl. They called for a thorough
inquiry into the suspicious death of their
son. The victim’s father Pesari Yellaiah and
mother Komuramma, residents of Vidyanagar
area in Kazipet town, strongly contend that
their son was not one who would commit
suicide.
His friends and other NRIs in Germany
contributed Rs 2.5 lakh for shifting of the
body to India. The body is expected to
arrive in the city by late on Saturday
night.
