Is there any link between the recent
attacks on Reliance properties and Wednesday’s release of the report of Director
General of Civil Aviation on September 2 helicopter crash leading to Y S
Rajasekhara Reddy’s death?
The answer seems to be yes, according to a section of the Congress leaders. The
DGCA had, in fact, sought some more time for submission of the report because it
needed finer details on the helicopter crash. However, it had to release the
report in a hurry under pressure from the Ambanis of Reliance group, who were
facing allegations of having a hand in the helicopter crash.
Following the recent attacks on Reliance properties, the Ambanis wanted that the
Centre give them a clean chit in the helicopter crash. The DGCA report clearly
ruled out the sabotage theory and attributed the crash to the technical snag,
pilot errors and bad weather. However, the DGCA did not mention the finer
details of cockpit voice recorder, why there was a technical snag in the
helicopter and why such faulty helicopter was used for flying YSR. Watch out for
the CBI report for more details.
