K.Chandrasekhar Rao

Kalvakuntla.Chandrasekhara Rao is the President of Telangana Rashtra Samithi. was a member of the Telugu Desam Party until he quit the party and formed the Telangana Rashtra Samithi. He allegedly floated this new party because he was not offered a suitable position in TDP (he was the deputy speaker during TDP rule). There were allegations against him that he is playing the "Telangana" card only to gain political power that he lacked while he was at TDP. Whatever the intentions of Mr. Rao be, he hasn't done anything until now for Telangana. They withdrew their ministers from the state cabinet recently because of the threats from Naxalites. The naxalites also killed some low rung party leaders before they withdrew from the Govt. However the reason for continuing in the central cabinet are yet unknown. He claims that he has support of Mrs. Sonia Gandhi and many other leaders outside the state (like Mr. Sharad Pawar of NCP of Maharashtra).
